Ebenezer Care Center is part of a full continuum of care campus including Transitional Care, Long Term Care, Adult Day, Assisted Living and Independent Living for a total of 114 beds. We are located just south of downtown Minneapolis, MN and are conveniently adjacent to many bus routes. We serve a VERY diverse and cultured population among not only our residents but staff as well. Our team includes a full time social worker, chaplain and an onsite ASL interpreter located in our care center, which specializes in the needs of deaf residents.
We are looking for a Custodian, whom would be responsible for deep cleaning of carpeted surfaces, stripping, waxing and burnishing of hard floor surfaces. This position may also perform general cleaning duties, all within our senior living community.
This position includes;
- 0.4 FTE or 32 hours in 2 weeks
- Evening shift/Every Weekend

Responsibilities/Job Description
Carpet sweeping, floor sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing Carpet extraction Stripping, waxing, and burnishing of hard floor surfaces Assists housekeeping and laundry staff as needed Assists with moving boxes, furniture, etc. Empties and removes trash and recycling Performs other duties assigned
Qualifications
Required Experience/Skills:
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Able to read/understand instructions for safety sheets and information on chemicals, infection control practices and body mechanics.
- Ability to perform relevant floor care procedures
- Experience with mechanical equipment
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- One year previous experience in a similar environment preferred
- Experience in floor care, custodial and/or cleaning work preferred
- High school diploma/GED preferred
